The first MICHELIN Guide Vancouver will debut in the Fall
Which Vancouver restaurants will earn a MICHELIN star?
Destination Vancouver and Michelin announced the MICHELIN Guide is coming to Vancouver. The first MICHELIN Guide Vancouver selection will debut in the Fall. Vancouver joins Toronto as the only Canadian MICHELIN Guide destination. The Michelin Guide is currently in 38 countries and 60 destinations.
The MICHELIN Guide anonymous inspectors are already visiting Vancouver restaurants. Restaurants can receive zero to 3 stars for the quality of their food based on five criteria: quality of the ingredients used, mastery of flavour and cooking techniques, the personality of the chef in his cuisine, value for money and consistency between visits.
The Guide is also renowned for its Bib Gourmand selection, highlighting restaurants that offer great quality food at good prices. The MICHELIN Green Star is given to restaurants that are leaders in sustainable gastronomy.
To celebrate the announcement, students from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts and VCC Culinary Arts created a beautiful west coast menu, under the direction of Chef Matthew Kammerer of The Harbor House Inn.
