Amazon launches Smart Air Quality Monitor
Amazon announced Smart Air Quality Monitor, a new smart, indoor air quality monitor that accurately measures the presence of indoor particles, a source of allergens and toxins, to empower customers to make necessary changes to improve their daily health.
According to the EPA, we spend approximately 90% of our time indoors, where the air we breathe can be 2-5x worse than outdoor environments. Shocking, right? The good news is with Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor, it’s simple to check the air quality of your home and feel empowered to take actions to make your home healthier. This can be especially helpful if you or your loved ones have allergies, or experience symptoms like coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, or chronic headaches.
So, what exactly does an air quality monitor do? It measures temperature, humidity, dust, volatile organic compounds, and carbon monoxide. When your air quality is poor, you’ll receive an alert from the Alexa app and/or hear an announcement from your Echo device so you can take action—whether that’s opening the window, or turning on a fan. Ask a compatible Alexa-enabled device for the air quality in your home at any time, or get deeper insights into your air quality through your Echo Show or the Alexa app. This lets you know how seemingly simple changes — like keeping the window open during the day, cleaning your vents, or adding an air purifier to your space — impact the quality of your air over time, helping you create a healthier living environment.
Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor is available for pre-order for $ 89.99, and will ship to customers next month
