Giveaway! Starbucks Canada launched Sous Vide Egg Bites
Looking for healthy breakfast-on-the-go? This week, Starbucks launched Sous Vide Egg Bites across Canada. The new egg bites are sous-vide, which means ‘under vacuum’ in French, a culinary technique where vacuum-sealed food is immersed in water and cooked at a precise and consistent temperature. This cooking method is preferred because it doesn’t require extra oil or fat! As a result, the perfectly cooked egg has a creamy and velvety texture without any cream or milk added. The two new flavours are Bacon & Gruyere and Egg White & Roasted Red Pepper.
Bacon & Gruyere is made with cage-free eggs, aged Gruyere and Monterey Jack cheese and topped with Applewood smoked bacon. I enjoyed the smoky bacon with the creamy cheese. It’s a great option if you preferred a protein-rich breakfast. Two Bacon and Gruyere bites have 310 calories and 19 grams of protein.
Egg White & Roasted Red Pepper is made with egg whites, Monterey Jack cheese, spinach and fire-roasted red peppers. This was absolutely delicious and goes well with my morning latte. I prefer the vegetarian option as its lighter and healthier. Two Egg White and Roasted Red Pepper bites have 170 calories and 13 grams of protein.
