Vessi 500 Championship: BC’s biggest dragon boat races at False Creek

Dragon boat season is upon us and that means one of BC’s biggest dragon boat races is returning at False Creek. On June 3rd, Vessi will host the Vessi 500 Championship as a title partner to bring together the dragon boat community through three major races – Mixed Division, Women Division and Open Cup.

From 10 am to 5pm, Vancouverites are invited to watch paddlers put their teamwork and skills to the test, and also stop by the Vessi Pavilion to partake in family-friendly, complimentary activities and take away limited edition goodies. As a sneak peek, guests will be able to enjoy:

Paint By Numbers: Vessi will be setting up a ‘paint by numbers’ dragon boat where Vancouverites can leave their mark and help decorate a practice boat that will be widely used by local dragon boat teams.

Limited edition Vessi pin: Everyone that helps paint the practice boat will receive a complimentary, limited edition enamel pin for participating. There’s a limited quantity so make sure to stop by as early as you can!

Put the Vessi to the test: With the arrival of summer, we’ll be reaping the benefits of being near and surrounding ourselves with water. What better way to do this than with our waterproof shoes? Come by the pavilion to dunk our shoes in water for yourself and see the magic happen.
