Columbia Konos Featherweight: Built for Streets, Trails, and Everything Between

So, I’m always on the lookout for that one shoe that can handle pretty much anything. You know, the shoe that’s comfy enough for a long run around the city, but also capable enough if I decide to take a detour onto a trail. I think I might have found it in the Columbia Konos Featherweight.

First impressions? Seriously light. At just over 9 ounces (261.5 grams), it lives up to its name. When they say “featherweight,” they aren’t kidding! It honestly feels like I’m barely wearing anything, which is a huge plus when I’m logging miles.

I’ve been testing these shoes out on my usual routes, which are a mix of cracked sidewalks and dirt trails. And so far, they’ve handled everything surprisingly well. The TechLite+ midsole definitely helps absorb the impact of hard surfaces, making those long city runs much more comfortable.

But what really surprised me was how well they performed on the trail. I wasn’t expecting a super-cushioned shoe to provide much stability, but the Konos Featherweight has decent midfoot support. The Omni-Grip outsole also does its job, providing good traction on both dry and slightly damp surfaces. I wouldn’t take these on a super technical hike, but for everyday trails, they are great.

Another thing I’ve appreciated is how breathable these shoes are. The engineered jacquard upper is light and airy, which helps keep my feet cool, even on warmer days. Plus, the tongue is designed to dry quickly, which is a nice touch.

Overall, I’m really happy with the Columbia Konos Featherweight shoe. It’s a comfortable, versatile option that’s perfect for anyone who wants a lightweight shoe that can handle a variety of surfaces. If you’re looking for a shoe that can seamlessly transition from city streets to light trails, I’d definitely recommend giving these a try.
