A Whimsical Spring Escape: Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Vancouver in the spring is a magical time. To celebrate this beautiful season, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is offering a special Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea, a lovely experience that captures the essence of spring.
The menu is a thoughtful blend of sweet and savoury, drawing inspiration from the season and Japanese flavours. The savoury selection includes unique bites like a Beef Menchi Katsu Sando with a hint of ume miso, Salted Cod Inari topped with ikura, and Albacore Tuna Tataki accented with ponzu pearls. You’ll also find updated classics like Egg Salad with furikake and a flavourful mushroom keema Curry Puff.
The sweet tier continues the cherry blossom theme. Look forward to a Sakura Matcha Mousse Cake, a striking Rare Cheesecake with cherry amarena, and a sophisticated Miso Caramel Tart. Black Sesame Shortbread and a Strawberry Macaron with yuzu gel round out the handcrafted pastries.
To accompany the food, choose from a specially selected list of loose-leaf teas. Options like the Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose blend green tea with sweet cherry, while the Spring Berry tea offers refreshing strawberry and hibiscus notes. Other choices include the unique, toasty Genmaicha Yamasaki and the fragrant Jasmine Gold Dragon.
For those wanting something a bit stronger, themed cocktails are available. Try the ‘First Blush’ with sakura-infused vodka and plum wine, ‘The Wind Rises’ featuring Japanese whiskey and oolong tea syrup, or the ‘Purple Jam’ made with butterfly pea-infused gin and blackberry jam.
Families are welcome, and a dedicated Children’s Tea menu ensures younger guests have a delightful time with kid-friendly sandwiches, cookies, and treats.
