H2 Kitchen + Bar is Vancouver’s newest smokehouse at The Westin Bayshore in Coal Harbour. Chef Homer Baisa is cooking up low and slow southern-style BBQ classics like beef brisket, side ribs and pulled pork.
We ordered the Meat Sweats for the full southern-style cuisine experience. Meat Sweats for 2 includes smoked beef brisket, slow smoked pulled pork, half a rack of St. Louis ribs, pickled red onion, pickles with a choice of 3 house-made sauces & 3 sides. Our faves were melt-in-your-mouth beef brisket (smoked for 12 hours) and fall-off-the-bone ribs (smoked for 5 hours). Both were flavourful, tender and juicy. For the side, we enjoyed the mac and cheese, waffle fries and cornbread.
We also got H2 signature Rotisserie Chicken with grilled summer squash and yam fries, and the fully loaded Chocolate Brownie Milkshake with chocolate sauce, brownie chunks, vanilla ice cream, and white chocolate sprinkles. For dessert, we got Lemon Meringue Pie with sweet lemon curd.
We enjoyed dining in the bird cage in the beautiful courtyard with live music, every Thursday to Sunday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. It’s surrounded by fire pits and red lounge chairs to savour the long summer nights.
