A Taste of Chinatown, a food event celebrating the 36th Anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden
On April 24th, one of the most notable cultural gems not only in Chinatown but in the City of Vancouver, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden (578 Carrall Street), is celebrating its 36th anniversary with a myriad of cultural and educational programming, family-friendly activities and welcomes some of the best eateries in Chinatown for a flavoursome evening event.
“For our 36th anniversary, we are committed to expand new and long-lasting partnerships, and amplify the multitude of exciting events, workshops, education programs and community engagement we’ve been orchestrating.” says Lorraine Lowe, executive director of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.
A Taste of Chinatown is a mouthwatering food event which takes place on Sunday, April 24th in collaboration with Sam Shem from The Dessert Club and Melody Yip from BlackHoleTummy. The dynamic duo were the talents behind the high-in-demand sold out Will Travel for Food: Vancouver to Hong Kong event back in late February, and are teaming up with the Garden once again to put forward another event to celebrate community with culture & food.
This event will feature a thoughtfully-curated selection of 8 different bites from some of Vancouver Chinatown’s most popular eateries at the Garden. Participating partners include: Chinatown BBQ, DD Mau, Jade Dynasty, Kam Wai Dim Sum, The Dessert Club and Simply Homayd. There will be music by Niña Mendoza and multiple activities throughout the Garden for the public to enjoy during this celebratory evening event.
