Escape to Victoria in Luxury: A Weekend Getaway with the Lincoln Nautilus Reserve

Sometimes, you just need to escape the everyday. For me, that meant a quick ferry trip to Victoria, BC, a city renowned for its charm, gardens, and… afternoon tea! And what better way to experience it than behind the wheel of the impeccably stylish and technologically advanced Lincoln Nautilus Reserve?

The moment I saw the Nautilus Reserve in its Lustrous Grey Metallic hue, I knew this was going to be special. The Jet Appearance Package was the perfect touch; those 22″ Satin Dark Luster Nickel-painted wheels with satin chrome inserts, the unique grille, and the black accents elevated its already sophisticated aesthetic. It’s a head-turner, no doubt. But the real magic happens once you slide inside.

The Immersive Panoramic Display is a true showstopper. The sheer size and clarity of the screen were breathtaking, and the fully customizable interface allowed me to personalize my driving experience. I loved being able to drag and drop widgets like audio, trip, and weather info to my preferred side of the screen. For a more focused drive, I simply switched to Calm View, displaying only crucial driving information. I also experimented with the different visual themes; my personal favorite was “Tranquil,” which created a soothing ambiance perfect for our relaxed island escape.

The Lincoln Digital Experience with Google Assistant worked seamlessly, allowing me to navigate and search for information without taking my hands off the wheel. Having Google Maps real-time navigation at my fingertips was incredibly convenient. Oh, and let’s not forget the Digital Scent feature. I started the journey with the crisp and clean scent of Violet Cashmere, which made the cabin feel like a relaxing spa.

The highlight of the drive was undoubtedly the Lincoln BlueCruise 1.2. From the moment we left the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, a 31.3 km stretch of the highway transformed into a designated Blue Zone. It was truly amazing to engage this feature and let the Nautilus take over while keeping my eyes on the road.

The steering wheel graphic on the display showed me when it was safe to go hands-free, and I could clearly see on the display when to resume control. This tech is more than just a novelty; it’s a stress-reducer. The Lane Change Assist and In-Lane Repositioning features also made the drive incredibly smooth and comfortable. I could actually relax and enjoy the scenery, knowing the car was actively and safely assisting me. Letting the car handle the tedious parts of highway driving was transformative. It’s no wonder Consumer Reports named BlueCruise the top-rated assisted-driving system!

Arriving in Victoria, we were ready to immerse ourselves in its charm. No visit to this city is complete without experiencing afternoon tea at the iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel. The experience is every bit as elegant and delicious as you imagine from the delicate pastries to the carefully curated tea selection.

Our next stop was the world-renowned Butchart Gardens. The colours, the artistry, and the sheer scale of this floral wonderland are breathtaking. We strolled through the various themed gardens, taking in the vibrant blooms and the tranquil atmosphere. It was the perfect way to connect with nature and round out our Victoria experience.

The Lincoln Nautilus Reserve was the perfect SUV for this luxurious Victoria getaway. From the hands-free convenience of Lincoln BlueCruise to the immersive digital experience and the unique sensory details, every moment spent in the Nautilus was a pleasure. If you’re looking for a vehicle that combines elegance, innovation, and a truly luxurious driving experience, the Lincoln Nautilus Reserve is the perfect choice.
