2021 BMW M440i xDrive Coupé Test Drive Review

For 2021, the popular BMW 4 Series got a major redesigned with a big, aggressive grille and wide, muscular stance. Our test vehicle was the 2021 BMW M440i xDrive Coupé in sleek Dravit Grey Metallic with Tacora Red Vernasca leather interior. The M440i was equipped with additional Premium Excellence Package and M Enhanced Track Package which includes Harman Kardon sound system, Head Up Display, BMW Laserlight, Driving Assistant Pro, Parking Assistant Plus, 19″ Double Spoke Wheels and Adaptive M Suspension.

The second generation BMW M440i xDrive Coupé is as powerful as previous generation BMW M4. It’s powered by a 3.0 litre TwinPower turbocharged 6-cylinder producing 382 horsepower and 369 lb. ft. of torque. The TwinPower engine improves with a 48 volt mild hybrid system that works seamlessly with no lag. It’s responsive and offer plenty of power while being fuel efficient and low in emissions. It has the latest xDrive intelligent system which delivered power to all four wheels when needed. On the road, the M440i with improved driving dynamics was super fun to drive, fast and agile. Switch to Sport Plus, the M440i becomes thrilling to drive with faster, torque response and louder, exhaust sound.

Inside the cabin, its familiar BMW luxury with clean, modern aesthetic. It has a beautiful two tone interior with metal and carbon trim which is contrasts by Tacora Red Vernasca leather in the door panels and seats. The ride is smooth and comfortable with supported seats.

The M440i was equipped with BMW Live Cockpit Professional on a beautiful high resolution 12.3 inch display and BMW iDrive 7.0 on a 10.25 inch touchscreen control display. BMW Live Cockpit Professional is an all digital driver display with 3D navigation.

One of my favourite feature is Assisted Driving View. It will display a 3D model of surrounding cars, trucks, bikes and obstacles. The semi-autonomous Driving Assistant Pro package includes adaptive cruise control with stop & go, steering and lane control assistant, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning. If a collision is imminent, the system initiates a full brake.

The 2021 BMW M440i is a fun everyday sport coupé. It’s powerful, impressive and thrilling to drive. Plus, all the semi-autonomous driving assisted technologies and xDrive all wheel system assure a safe driving experience.
