Subway’s MOJO Sauce: A Must-Try for National Sauce Month

It’s National Sauce Month, and Subway Canada is celebrating in a big way! Turns out, Canadians are serious about their sauces. According to a recent poll, a whopping 70% of us consider sauce a must-have on our subs. To put that love into perspective, Subway Canada sells enough sauce annually to fill almost two entire swimming pools!
But here’s where it gets interesting: despite our shared love, we’re a nation divided when it comes to flavour preferences and the ideal number of sauces. That’s why National Sauce Month is the perfect time to step outside your comfort zone and explore new combinations.
This month, Subway Canada is introducing a limited-edition sauce called MOJO. This new sauce aims to add a flavourful twist to your usual sub. MOJO delivers a creamy, smoky taste with a blend of herbs and a subtle kick of cayenne pepper.
Two-thirds of Albertans consider customizing their sub sauce as very important. In contrast, consumers in B.C. and Quebec tend to keep it simple, with mayonnaise being the go-to choice in La Belle Province.
Interestingly, younger generations are the most enthusiastic about sauces. Serving a sauceless sub to a Gen Z or millennial? Expect a resounding “no thank you!” These groups are also most likely to layer two or three sauces to create their own unique flavour combinations.
Subway Canada understands our passion for sauces, offering an exclusive line-up that includes Nashville-Style Hot Sauce, Cuban Style Sauce and Tandoori-spiced Sauce. And, excitingly, two more additions are planned for later this year!
