Wynns Coonawarra Estate Wine Tasting at Riley’s Fish & Steak: Exploring the Best of South Australia

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to indulge in a wine tasting experience at Riley’s Fish & Steak, a Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant. The event featured a curated selection of wines from Wynns Coonawarra Estate, a renowned Australian winery.

Wynns Coonawarra Chardonnay 2021: This elegant Chardonnay, with its notes of poached pear and stone fruit, complemented the Crab Cake appetizer. Its soft acidity and complex barrel ferment characters made it a delightful pairing.

Wynns Coonawarra Old Vines Shiraz 2019: A classic Coonawarra Shiraz, this wine showcased the region’s signature dark berry flavours and peppery spice. It was the perfect match for the Seafood Rigatoni, enhancing the dish’s rich flavours.

Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2019: This iconic Cabernet Sauvignon, with its elegant structure and complex aromas of red and black cherries, was the ideal pairing for the Steak & Frites. Its intense yet refined character complemented the richness of the steak.

Michael Shiraz 2018: A pinnacle of Coonawarra Shiraz, this wine offered a concentrated and complex palate with notes of dark berries, spice, and subtle oak. It was a truly exceptional experience.

The Siding Cabernet Sauvignon 2021: A more approachable Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine showcased the region’s classic red berry and mint aromas. Its soft tannins and refreshing acidity made it a versatile pairing.
